SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): CalRecycle has partnered with Diversys Software Inc.on its Electronic Mobile Manifesting System, aimed at modernizing California’s Waste and Used Tire Recycling Program.
The partnership's goal is to update the state's tire recycling program, which currently handles over 50 million used tires annually. Paper-based techniques for recycling will give way to an electronic manifest system. By enabling waste tire transporters and haulers to track and manage their waste tire recycling manifests, the new technology promises increased efficiency.
In waste management, the State of California has been promoting the switch to digital reporting while highlighting the need for reliable solutions. Waste tire transporters will find it easier to switch to electronic manifests with the support of the Diversys platform. The software also has less administrative costs and makes tracking compliance data easier.
CalRecycle's Director, Zoe Heller, stated that the company's tire recycling activities will be much improved by the switch to digital reporting. Meanwhile, Diversys CEO and Founder Roger Barlow said the company is proud to collaborate with CalRecycle on this important project.
