SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Fingal County Council (FCC) has launched an initiative titled "Fingal Safety Halloween" to offer support to local community and voluntary groups in their efforts to ensure safety during Halloween.
The FCC intends to spend about €150k on cleanup efforts after fireworks as part of the campaign. The money will be used by the Council to clean up and fix damage from unlawful bonfires. Note that it will take at least nine months for the grass and soil that have been damaged by bonfires to recover.
A number of entertaining events will be organized by the local community centers and clubs to raise awareness of the breadth of services provided by FCC. Additionally, their main focus will be on offering general advice on how to be safe on Halloween.
The FCC has hosted a number of events in places like Donabate/Portrane, Ballyboughal, Howth, Malahide, and Swords. The activities include discoes, Halloween bulb sowing, craft workshops, pumpkin carving, and pumpkin patches. Additionally, children can bring their Halloween costumes to be exchanged with others during a recycling event that will be held at the Portrane Donabate Community Center on Friday, October 25 from 4 to 10 p.m., giving them the chance to reuse and recycle.
