SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): ExxonMobil, a company based in Texas, revealed bold plans to double the capacity for advanced recycling at its Baytown and Beaumont facilities in the United States.
With the anticipated start of the new operations in 2026, the company will be able to divert more plastic from landfills and achieve greater advanced recycling rates. Its capacity is anticipated to increase by an additional 350 million pounds annually as a result of the upgrade. By 2027, ExxonMobil hopes to have a global recycling capability of about 1 billion pounds annually.

In 2022, the business opened its first Baytown location. As of October of this year, it had processed over 70 million pounds of plastic garbage, making it one of the most advanced recycling plants in the North American region. The company serves a variety of industries and has advanced recycling clients in over 15 countries worldwide.
