SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Interstate Waste Services (IWS) announced that it has acquired Middletown, New York-based Marangi Disposal- a prominent hauler that offer services to commercial, residential, municipal and industrial customers in Orange and Rockland counties.
This is the latest in the series of acquisitions that IWS has made in the region. Earlier this year, the company had acquired Connecticut-based Oak Ridge Waste & Recycling- a leading waste and recycling collection service provider in western Connecticut and Putnam and Westchester counties in New York. The latest deal is expected to double IWS’s New York footprints.
Commenting on the transaction, Mike DiBella, CEO of IWS noted that its acquisition of Marangi Disposal is a natural progression of the relationship between the two companies. It must be noted that Marangi has been a customer of IWS for more than two and a half decades.
As per terms of the deal, all the existing employees of Marangi will continue to serve their routes under the IWS name. Mike Marangi, CEO of the acquired company will continue to stay as an executive.
