LRS Honored with 2024 NWRA Recycling Facility of the Year Award

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) has selected LRS's Exchange Material Recovery Facility (MRF) as the recipient of the 2024 Recycling Facility of the Year Award. Its cutting-edge technology, together with developments in sustainability, innovation, and operational efficiency, are recognized with this award.

The NWRA 2024 Recycling Facility of the Year Award serves as a testament to LRS Exchange MRF's unmatched dedication to the growth of the recycling sector. In addition to emphasizing the facility's recent successes, the award will motivate the business to continue pushing forward with waste diversion and recycling initiatives.

LRS wants to increase the facility's ability to process recyclables from the existing 25 tons per hour to 35 tons per hour. Consequently, this will strengthen the City of Chicago's and the neighbouring communities' and businesses' trash diversion initiatives.

Located in Stockyards, Chicago, the LRS Exchange MRF commenced its operations last year. It can divert almost a million pounds of recyclables each day in a sustainable manner. This in turn helps to significantly reduce raw material demand and preserve valuable natural resources.
