Minnesota Plastic Recycling Plant to Open Under New Ownership

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The former Myplas USA plastic film recycling plant in Rogers, Minnesota will be reopened by GDB Circular (MN) - a subsidiary of New Jersey-based GDB International Inc.

GDB Circular now owns the Rogers facility, serving as the lead investor. The additional investors in the revamped recycling facility include General Mills and Schwan’s Co. The company declined to reveal its financial contribution to the project. Also, the business did not say when it would reopen the property.

GDB International runs mechanical recycling facilities for plastic in several regions including Wisconsin, Ohio, Tennessee, and Florida. The former Myplas facility will become the latest addition to this network of facilities, the company said in a news release.

The unveiling of the new ownership will put an end to months of legal and financial struggles.

According to reports, GDB International has upgraded the facility and its operations with large investments. Modern technology installation promises to increase productivity while lowering harmful environmental effects. Additionally, it will generate a number of sustainable and engineering jobs. The company aims to transform the facility into a “state-of-the-art hub for plastics recycling in the region.”
