Northwest Recycling Acquired by Skagit-Based Recycler

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Northwest Recycling, a nearly 100-year old Whatcom County-based recycling company was acquired by Skagit County-based Lautenbach Recycling.

According to the announcement made by Troy Lautenbach, President and Founder, Lautenbach Recycling, the acquisition will provide more opportunities for the company to increase its recycling and waste-recovery presence in Whatcom County. Furthermore, it will offer greater efficiencies and innovation in its multi-county operations and partnerships, Troy added.

The curbside recycling processing services will remain unaffected as Lautenbach Recycling has already partnered with Sanitary Service Company, Nooksack Valley Disposal and the City of Bellingham. Most importantly, there will be no change for customers in connection with sorting of recycling bins or their marketing for reuse.

Northwest Recycling is a key provider of commercial cardboard and steel recycling in Whatcom County. It also provides storage container rentals. Meantime, Lautenbach Recycling owns and operates Whatcom County Recycling Depot in Ferndale and is also the majority owner of Skagit Soils and operator of the San Juan Island Transfer Station.
