SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Ocean City, New Jersey announced commencement of summer trash-recycling collection schedule on Saturday, June 8. The schedule will run through Saturday, September 7.
The new collection schedule proposes twice-weekly pickup. The scheduled collection for Longport Bridge to north end of 9th Street will be on Monday and Thursday, with yard waste collection on Thursday. The South side of 9th Street to north side of 28th Street will be serviced on Tuesday and Friday, with yard waste collection scheduled on Tuesday. The collection for South side of 28th Street to 59th Street will be on Wednesday and Saturday, with Wednesdays reserved for yard waste.
The regular schedule for pickup will continue on Independence Day and Labor Day. The only interruption to the schedule will be on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day, the city press release said.
To the convenience of residents who miss the regular scheduled trash and recycling pickups on account of non-availability at homes, the city now allows drop off of trash and recycling by residents at the Shelter Road Recycling Center. However, the timing for this will be limited to every Sunday 11 AM to 7 PM.
