After the state discontinued the practice of deducting waste diversion credits from incineration, the firm informed county officials last year that the plant was having financial difficulties. Reworld demanded that the incineration facility's operations be sustained through a new contract or a rise in tipping fees. It should be mentioned that in January of this year, the business's other California location, in Long Beach, shuttered.

Stanislaus County and the firm have a contract that expires in 2027. However, local environmental justice organizations have been vehemently opposed to the MSW incineration plant. According to the most recent information, the County is negotiating a final disposal deal with the corporation and its partners.

As part of its attempts to broaden its North American service network, Reworld is presently concentrating on new business prospects, according to Nicolle Robles, director of communications.
