Richmond Recycling Center to Remain Closed During Holidays


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Richmond Recycling Center, located at 550 Recycle Drive, will remain closed for a few days during holidays, so as to allow staff to celebrate the occasion. According to information, the center will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 22, at 3 p.m. until Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 7 a.m. Furthermore, no recyclable items, including materials at the drop-off center, will be accepted during this period.

The Center offers free curb side pickup for residents and businesses and a round-the-clock drop off program for all residents of the Madison County. In addition, it also offers free cardboard pick up for businesses. The Center process wide range of materials including plastics 1-9, steel and aluminum cans, paper products, and cardboard. As per estimates, it had processed around 2.675 million pounds of recyclables during the previous year.

Aaron Vaughan, Director of Recycling Center said that the announcement has been made in advance so as to avoid abnormal volumes of recycling being dropped off at the center during the holiday season. The Center used to receive comparatively more items during the holidays, Vaughan noted.
