TerraCycle to Offer New Life to Discarded Halloween Candy Wrappers


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): In order to give discarded Halloween candy wrappers a new lease on life throughout the holiday season, TerraCycle established the Zero Waste Box campaign. In order to protect the environment, the corporation emphasized the importance of collecting and recycling candy wrappers appropriately.

The company unleashed a spooky version of the recycling solution in three sizes. It has also introduced a unique Halloween Treat Wrappers - Zero Waste Pouch option, where candy wrappers can be gathered for recycling, to assist consumers who anticipate less treats.TerraCycle noted that it is not easy to recycle most candy wrappers, as many of them are made from a variety of materials including polypropylene, aluminum foil and paper.

After being filled, the boxes need to be returned to TerraCycle using the pre-paid mailing label that is attached. They will then be cleaned, melted, and recycled to create pellets that can be used to create new goods.

Nearly 69% of Americans intend to purchase candy this Halloween season, according to the results of a recent Ferrero North America survey. According to a recent National Retail Federation report, the total amount spent on candy alone is expected to reach $3.5 billion this year.
