Township of Nutley Provided Key Updates on Recycling Program

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Township of Nutley Commissioner Dr. Joseph P. Scarpelli and the Department of Public Works (DPW) announced that its recycling program will remain unchanged. Adjustments are being made to the garbage collection system, whereas the recycling efforts will continue as usual, he said.

Therefore, it is asked that households keep utilizing their blue recycling containers—one for paper and the other for commingling. The Township's dual stream recycling system will remain in place.

The DPW is also developing a strategy to recycle outdated and unneeded trash cans in an environmentally responsible and sustainable way. In keeping with Nutley's continuous dedication to sustainability, the planned proposal, once completed, will give locals an easy way to get rid of their outdated garbage cans. According to Scarpelli, the program is nearing completion and should debut early this year.

On Saturday mornings and afternoons, residents will be able to dispose of their old garbage cans at certain places around the municipality. The duration of the curriculum is roughly nine weeks. Before throwing away old garbage cans, Scarpelli advised locals to try reusing them as compost bins or as a place to store yard tools. Soon, more information on the Old Trash Receptacle Recycling Program will be made public.
