SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority (CCRA) announces expansion of its curbside collection and recycling services to more areas effective January 1, 2023. Accordingly, it will expand to include Howard Borough, Howard Township, Marion Township and Walker Township. It must be noted that CCRA currently provide curbside recycling services to around 28,000 households.
As per announcement, the CCRA plans to offer the service to those who currently do not have curbside recycling service. This is to avoid any competition with local haulers who currently offer curbside recycling collection in these areas.

The expanded service will include households in Howard, Hublersburg, Jacksonville, Lamar in Centre County portion, Mingoville, Mt. Eagle, Nittany, Snydertown and Zion. The weekly curbside recycling collection services will be offered on Fridays only and will cost $9 per month. CCRA will provide convenient curbside container. Also, clear instructions will be provided on what is recyclable and how to prepare the recyclables for collection.
CCRA announced that will begin tagging non-compliant curbside bins starting next year. Also, it will put a note on unapproved curbside bins. Such customers, upon contacting CCRA office, will be delivered brand-new red curbside recycling bin free of charge.
