City of Chicago Launched Free Recycle Coach App


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Chicago, IL has announced launch of a new free Recycle Coach education app for city residents.

According to the Department of Streets and Sanitation's (DSS) statement, the new smartphone and mobile app was developed in collaboration with Recycle Coach and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and will be free for locals to download. The app will offer useful information such as appropriate waste management practices and recycling and garbage schedules particular to a given region.

According to Mayor Brandon Johnson, the app will make it simple to get information on where and how to recycle, which will boost the City's recycling and trash diversion initiatives. He stated that the City will be able to accomplish its climate action goals with the aid of the comprehensive yet easy resource.

The Recycle Coach app can be accessed at www.chicagorecycles.org. To obtain personalized garbage and recycling information, including calendars for collections and events, notifications of service modifications, and a comprehensive database on recyclables and non-recyclables, the address must be entered. Quizzes and recycling advice are among the other instructional materials offered by the app.

It is anticipated that the tool will assist locals in making better waste management decisions, which will lead to lower contamination and higher recycling rates.
