Jefferson Parish Declared Changes to Recycling Drop-Off Sites

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Jefferson Parish officials announced changes to recycling drop-off sites. The changes will be with effect from Saturday, July 6, 2024.

According to the official announcement, the working hours of the East Bank and West Bank recycling drop-off sites will be revised from 8AM to 12PM. In addition, the East Bank recycling drop-off site will be relocated to the Republic Service’s Materials Recovery Facility at 804 L&A Road from its current location at the parking lot of the Joseph S. Yenni Building at 1221 Elmwood Park Blvd.

Mark Drewes, Public Works Director, Jefferson Parish noted that the new working hours of the site will prevent workers from getting themselves exposed to excessive heat. Also, it will also result in significant reduction in initial drop-off wait time. The relocation will enable switch to a new process that results in reduced emissions, he added.

The East Bank site will be serviced by REALCYCLE, whereas the services at the West Bank site will be offered by Glass Half Full.

Both the sites will accept a wide range of items including glass bottles, glass jars, cardboard, aluminum cans, tin cans, steel cans, plastic water bottles, plastic soda bottles, plastic milk containers, plastic juice containers, plastic shampoo containers and detergent containers. The residents are required to show their proof of residency.
