Park City Recycling Center Announced Temporary Closure

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Park City recycling center will be closed temporarily for a period of two weeks starting Monday, August 19, 2024, said Recycle Utah. The closure has been forced by the Engine House development construction.

According to Jim Bedell, Board member, Recycle Utah, the recycling center has closed only on holidays ever since it started functioning in the 1990s. The Engine House property development has reached a stage where it now needs a connection to the sewer line. The connection needs to go right through the property of the recycling center. The facility will be completely closed until the Tuesday after Labour Day, he added.

Recycle Utah noted that residents are required to either hold on to their recyclables until it reopens or bring their items to the center this week before the closure. It urged residents to remain patient as it expects heavy business volumes this week.

Meantime, Recycle Utah will employ services of renowned consulting firm Resource Recycling Systems to ascertain the collection strategies and facility infrastructure to meet the future needs of its residents. The team of consultants will conduct a visit of the facility. The Recycle Utah team also plans to visit other sites Resource Recycling Systems to learn about the systems being used there.
