TFC Recycling Renewed Curbside Recycling Contract with the City of Virginia Beach


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): TFC Recycling announced that it has renewed its curbside recycling services contract with the City of Virginia Beach, VA. The company was selected the winner by a competitive bidding process.

In accordance with the extended agreement, the business will offer curbside recycling services to more than 125,000 homes. As a result, about 20,000 tons of recyclables will be diverted from nearby landfills. The pact also asks for more investment in new collection vehicles and jobs to qualified personnel from within the community. The contract's provisions provide a potential 13-year renewal.

Commenting on the development, Michael Benedetto, President of TFC Recycling said that the company is proud to have the largest city in Virginia as its partner, thus offering real recycling solutions. TFC is proud to continue providing sustainable solutions to reduce, reuse, and recycle for the citizens of Virginia Beach and the greater Hampton Roads region, Benedetto added.

The recyclables collected from City residents will be processed at TFC’s state-of-the-art Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). Recently, the company spent $3 million installing a new Master Control system.
